Steven, I'm sorely tempted to really jump on your request to borrow 3DS but I'll leave that one alone. (I think that's a no-no!) But what really gets me is that you think you can borrow a package like 3DS and learn it in time to walk into a potential client to do a job. Wow! If you learned how to oil paint in a month maybe you could pull it off, but I seriously doubt it. (And remember all you need to oil paint is some canvas, brushes and paint… and a little skill <g>) I could be wrong but if you're that good, Buy 3D Studio! you'll make a heck of a lot of money. -JE

That would shut me down completely. I've got some heavy duty work all this week and through the weekend. Let me instead offer the following: I expect to be in the office sometime over the weekend. Why don't you come down and look over my shoulder as I explain what I do. When I begin my network rendering, you can sit here and work with the program while the other systems do their thing. I can teach you some basics in a day, but you still won't "know how to use 3DS." It takes a LONG time. I expect to be in the office Thursday, in Boston at the 3DS users group Thursday night, at the studio Friday, and back in the office on Saturday sometime. Try to catch me or leave a message. If you can catch me by 3:00 Thursday, you are more than welcome to come with me to Boston. It should be a great meeting… Michele Bousquet (I believe you met her at Autodesk U) will be doing a presentation and hopefully bringing the 3DS books she wrote. BTW… would you be interested in any part-time AutoCAD work? My former employer is looking for some help.
