#CD-ROM Adapter Card
5 messages in this thread
I purchased a BSR CD ROM drive from DAK Industries along with a
bundle of software thinking it was compatible with an IBM PS/2 55SX. When
I tried to install the adapter card I found out I had a problem. The
drive is apparently made by Sony (CDU-6201) and the adapter card also
(CDB-240 Series). Do I have any option other than returning this to DAK?
I only have a couple of days before I have to return this to DAK. As you
can see, I'm not very knowledgeable about CD-ROM or what kind of computer I
have!
Larry,
You need a Micro Channel board for your machine. Contact DAK to see if
they have one. Someone from DAK is on this forum.

If you succeed in getting help with this problem, I'd appreciate
your letting me know. I too have an IBM 55 SX that requires a MicroChannel
card.

I left you a reply to this same message on the Multimedia forum.
YOU NEED A MICROCHANNEL CARD FOR YOUR PS/2 55 SX. THE CARD YOU HAVE IS FOR
THE STANDARD AT BUS. I WOULD RETURN THE KIT AND ORDER ONE THAT IS
COMPATIBLE FOR MICROCHANNEL.
