This is my first time logging on, so please be gentle. Is there any way that 3D Studio can recognize different layers in ACAD and assign them different colors in the Editor? It happened by fluke once and that got my mind a working, but I have been unable to reproduce the procedure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Matthew Sulhoff Research Assistant, GA Tech

Matthew, Load the ACADCLR.MLI materials library. Then import your AutoCAD .DXF file into 3D Studio. 3DS will then automatically match the colors used in AutoCAD. If you want, you can modify any Materials Library to substitute other materials – they just have to have those same material names for the colors. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

Thanks, I saw the same thing in Inside 3dStudio today. I knew there was a way. Doug
