The local Barnes & Nobles bookstore just received "Inside 3D Studio." What a book! My congratulations to you and the coauthors! Now I am sorry I ordered it from you and have to wait! Just joking, the autograph will be worth millions! When do you think I'll receive it? Don't tell anyone, but I spent about two hours reading it in the bookstore! Your photograph was retouched, I am sure. All wise greeks are elderly, have a white beard and wear a white robe. Ed K

Ed: I've had as many comments about the photo as I have about the book! <g> Most ASOFTers thought I should have been blond carrying a surfboard… Greg Pyros

Greg, <<Most ASOFTers thought I should have been blond carrying a surfboard…>> Not likely, being you're from Wilkes-Barre. BTW I noticed the "Pyros Corporation" on one of your recent replys, is that new, no more partnership? If so congrads, if not congrads anyway. Fred

Fred: Yes, we've been Pyros Corporation since November, and that is also different from Pyros Pictures, Inc. our animation division. Talk about bookkeeping hassles! Greg Pyros

Greg, Saw the full page color ad in The Hollywood Reporter this week — what's that all about ? Bruce

Bruce: Not bad, huh? Full page color in the Hollywood Reporter is enough to make even my head swim! This is the project we have been buried in for the last few months. It is a piece that is a combination of live and computer graphics, where the main character and special effects are all totally done in 3D Studio. "Digi Digital" sings, dances, and interacts with the live actors. It was all shot on 35MM at the Universal Studios back lot (on the "Back to the Future" courthouse set) with a cast of 150 and crew of 45 (I'd hate to have their catering bill!) All transferred to D1, where the final editing will be done. It should be finished by the end of June, when I become a human being again! (All right guys, no wisecracks out there!) Gary: I'm looking forward to seeing it, also! <g> We wrapped our final takes of the live shots last night, the rest is up to us and 3DS! Greg

Greg, Congrats on the book. Just saw in in a local bookstore. It's next on my list of books to get, even though I don't use 3DS. Looks like the CD has a bunch of intense texture/image maps. –dkm
