David, I recently purchased one of your company's PAR units for the PC. The installation was easy, but I can't store TGA files on it, as ANI or STILL, without significant artifacts being introduced into the image. For example, I created white titles on a black ground in photoshop and saved the image to the PAR. When I load it back into photoship, the black around the letters has numerous artiffacts. My current settings are Q=23, BLF = 256. What am I doing wrong? I took a suggestion form Pyros Partnership tech support and created a title image with less contrast ( 6 < RGB colors > 240 ), but that didn't help. Any advice would be appreciated. Martin Kunert

Martin, Your problem does seem odd, as I have done some fairly contrasty stuff myself with Black and in my case Gold without significant artifacting. There is some but its negligible. Let me know how its resolved. -JE

Dave, I spoke to your tech support people. They say the artifacts are inheriant in the compression… but that when the image is pasted to tape, the tape's lower bandwidth will drop the artifacts. I'll give it a try. Martin Kunert
