John; >> I believe ALR's Evolution V will hold up to 1gig of ram (I'd love to >> see the redraws a 1gig project file would cause…). I'd hate to pay the bill for 1gig of RAM! 🙁 Dennis

>>I'd hate to pay the bill for 1gig of RAM!<< Yeah, that's not something I plan on doing, either. I can't even get my machines up to 64megs right now. John Tissavary (LUNA cie)

The one gig of ram won't do you any good, since it seems that dos can only access 64megs. We just got a DEC pentium with 198 megs of ram and we can't access any more than 64 megs. We've tried QEMM and now we have problems with r3 crashing. Anyone have any suggestions or know if there truly is a 64 meg limitation with DOS? Yann

Yann, Here's a message from Gus. "Are you sure your computer will address more than 64Meg? This is somewhat trivial. You should be able to just add the memory and see the "memory count" go all the way to 128M (being able to use that later is another story and _that_ has to do with memory manager, not while booting). Check your CMOS setup program (manuals?) for settings and limitations. Old mother boards used to have some jumpers in order to tell how much memory you have installed (I doubt a Pentium mother board was done that way). What computer is this? Do you have their tech support line? How about the manuals? Do they say anything about adding memory? P.S. 128 Megs ain't that strange in this neck of the woods. Some folks are running 256Megs."" jonas[adesk]
