I would very much like to obtain a 3D mesh of Jesus.
Either upper body/face portions or the entire form.
I'm particularly interested in very fine facial features as this
is a likness of Christ.
This would be for a personal not for profit project I have in mind.

Syndesis has a line of Jesus meshes, varying in resolution and colr schemes.
We have the blow-dried Jesus, the Arafat Jesus, the 50-foot-tall "Fightin'
Jesus," the Latin Jesus, the Egyptian Jesus… some include texture maps, pre-
and post-Crucifiction. We only sell them to animators who are extremely pure of
spirit, so we may not even be able to sell them to you. 🙂

Seriously, I've been considering putting together a Public Service Type of
Animation with absolutly no buyer in mind…It's just something I want to do.
I'm not 100% sure exactly how or what the message will be but I recently
deceided I wanted to do this as it had been in the back of my mind for some
time now and My wife Sue and I went to see the "Cotton Patch Gospel" at the
Center for Performing Arts this last Weekend, I've resolved to do this now!

I do however need to talk to you about compensation as I really am just in the
first stages of putting this together and how much these images of our Lord
would cost me may make some of the things I have in mind cost prohibitive.

Sorry, Murph, I was pulling your chain, and I think it worked. We do not have
any Jesus models. Your request struck me as funny, because no one knows what
he might've looked like. There is a "Marks whoops "Mark's Head" object on the
3D-ROM, it's a Cyberware scanned model, but it could be adapted, I'm sure. I
can't wait to tell Mark. 🙂
BTW, as a teenager, I met the author of the Cotton Patch Gospel, and spent some
time at his commune in Georgia, just down the road from Jimmy Carter's place –
I went there, once, too. That's the cradle of the "Habitat for Humanity "
crowd, too, between those two people.
I'm extreemly dissapointed John.
Actually Biblical Scholars do have a pretty good Idea what Jesus looked like if
you accept the Shroud of Turan as Genuine.
But then….what do they know…they had been touting the Well of David's
locatation incorectly for over 1,900 years until some Biblical Students working
with Biblical Architectural Review Magazine correctly identified it just a few
year ago. <g>

Actually accourding to the latest Scientific instrumentation the Image of
Christ on the Shroud contains 3D Information that allows for a reproducable 3D
Image of Christ's Face….so you might sat that Jesus was the first
"Electric-3D-Artist"….The more things change the more they stay the
same…<g>

I forgot it was on but accidently came across it while channel surfing on my
small set in the computer room for background "Noise".
I then turned on the big set and watched that particular segment.
I first saw a special several years ago on the Shroud done by PBS I think and
English BBC group put it together and I found extreemly interesting.
Like the man says if you beleive the shroud is the most fantastic relic on the
face of the earth…even if you don't its still the most fantastic enigma on
the face of the earth…
I happen to beleive the carbon 14 dating was wrong… there is too much
evidence that it is genuine.
As any good Archeology student knows carbon 14 can be wayyyyy off <g>
Of course they mentioned that in the show but I though it bore repeating.
I missed where the shroud is being kept….
Last time I thought it was somewhere in Turkey???
Too far for me to go at the present but I surley would like to get a real up
close look at it.
I found the 3D portion of the program extreemly intersting when they showed the
information imbedded in the shroud to have 3D information allowing for a TOPO
type of 3D Map to be recreated.
I'm not sure if that was in the original special I saw several years ago or
not. It sure got my attention though….
I would love for some forensic specialist to tweek the information down to the
point of giving us a 90+ percent accurate image in detail…..
Of course if one has patience and lives right one will most likley get a chance
to see that face at 100 Percent detail….Must Give us Pause.
