Has anyone had problems with Word Perfect on a 3000? I am loosing the top half of the first 5 to 10 characters on each line at the left side and they are appearing partially one line up on the screen. Have an A3000 with 2 meg chip and 4 fast ram, a1950 monitor, two external drives. The problem did not show until I removed a set of 1 meg fast ram chips and installed a set of 4 meg chips. No other software exibits this proglem and it occurs reguardless of what else is running. Text prints properly to any printer and spell checker works fine. Files transferred to another machine (A2000) are normal.? ??? Thanks in advance if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Dudley… regarding your Word Perfect's 'strange screen', same here, except I am using a 2000 (AmigaOS 2.04) with GVP 68030, 4 megs fast and 2 megs chip (MegaChip with a 2 meg Agnus). I hate it. I completely re-installed Word Perfect after re-formatting under 2.04 and it is now considerably less than elegant. My version of WP is 4.1.11. Anyone have ideas? Thanks for your rapid response. Did not have time today to contact Word Perfect, will let you know results. Seems to be the compbination of a 68030 chip, 2 megs of chip ram and 4 megs of fast ram. I did not have the problem until i went to 4 megs fast ram. No other ideas at this point.

Yes, Get another Word Processor or upgrade to WP 4.1.12. I use it and have had no problems on my A500 w/6.5Megs and WB2.04. Rodger – via Whap!

Dudley: I don't use WOrdPErfect, but I have found several of my older programs don't like the overscan screens available in 2.0. Try setting your screen size to a normal setting without any overscan and see if that solves the problem. (And don't count on any help from WP) – Whapp!ng from the North Coast Michael

Thanks for the quick response. I agree it may be in the overscan screen, but WP behaved perfectly until the addition of ram. I have not used the overscan screen sizes nor have I reset the sizes before this occured. I am sure most fellow amiga users will be more friendly than WP but I will try. I will post any results I get.

It's Upgrade Time! You need to get a copy of WP 4.1.12, it should cost $9.72. I just got mine this week and everything seems to be back to normal. – Joe Maulucci – Accadia Electronic Arts – Buffalo, NY

Thanks for your response Joe. I was in contact with WP yesterday and that is what they concluded also. Since I had a defective copy of 4.1.12 and could not re-install it they are shipping me a replacement and I should be up and running soon. I might also add that I was able to access thier tech support on the first try by phone, and their tech rep was most helpful. I did however, mention my disappointment at the decision to abandon the Amiga market. I will also be writing them to express the same concerns. Thanks, Dudley
