Len, Usually DTR is set by the terminal software and/or your serial preferences. Don

Don: > Usually, DTR is set by the terminal software and/or your serial prefs. I *know* that. (^_^) The problem is… I can't seem to be able to drop it at all. I have my terminal program set to drop DTR to hang up the phone. When I tell it to hang up, nothing happens – no DTR drop, nothing. I can't see anything in my serial Prefs program (v 2.1 KS 37.175 WB 38.35) to indicate that DTR is programmable from within its setup.

Len, I'd check the cable and the modem to make sure they're not the problem. If they're ok, then it's more than likely an 8250 problem. Don

Don- >it's more than likely an 8250 problem. That's *exactly* what it was. (I checked with one of the few remaining Amiga dealers in my area, and he suggested that as well.) I swapped both 8250s in the 2000 for the ones in my old 500. Be and lohold, the problem vanished!! (^_^)
