#Problems with XPR BPlus?
3 messages in this thread
In another thread in this topic the XPR BPlus library was referred to as
buggy.
I would like to request information from users on their experiences of
using the library. If you have had problems, please tell as much as you
can on how they manifested. Were they intermittent, consistent, did they
occur at the same point in transfers or at any time? Also please tell me
your system configuration, OS version, processor, terminal program, serial
device, modem etc.
I have been offline for considerable periods since the library was
uploaded, sometimes for months at a stretch, but it was nearly 2 years ago
and think I would have picked up on signifcant problems in the threads.
The only serious problem I know of related to NCOMM. This program seemed
to filter out important protocol information and as such I could do
nothing about it. An easily fixable problem (not a bug) related to setting
serial prefs to 8N1 as covered in the doc file. I don't need to be
reminded of these, thanks.
I may have been naive in assuming that the absence of other adverse
comments indicated that it was trouble-free!
All information will be gratefully (and I hope graciously) received. I
will then try to fix any reported bugs if I can recreate and isolate them.
That is, of course, if people think it's worth the effort. Perhaps
everyone was happy with QuickB?

I haven't had any problem with the xprbplus.library version 1.1 (19004k)
(w/Backtalk).

I've been using:

> : xprbplus.library version 1.1 (8 Jun 1992) by Terry Finney
off and on since it first became available here on CI$ with VLTJr (primarily
with V5.576 and recently with V5.867). I have used it mostly for downloads
(approximately 20-30) and have not experienced any problems that I could
attribute to xprbplus v1.1. Almost all of these transfers were by TELENET
access at 2400 baud (2400/REL) using a Supra 2400+. Platform is an A2630
accelerated A2000, with a GVP Series II HC+2/40Q (2 Megs RAM/40 Meg HD) running
ADOS 2.04 first and now 2.1.
It's been very useful for me and I'm glad to have the change to say THANKS!
