#MSDOS5.0&JANUS2.0
5 messages in this thread
Dear Sysop: I just install MSDOS 5.0 on my XT Bridgeboard. It works
flawlessly. Only one thing. Aread Awrite and Atime doesn't work any more.
I kee p getting apromt that says services is not running on the Amiga side.
Is there a proglem with MSDOS and the JDISK.SYS/janus commands? I would
appreciate your help.

Odell,
You are running PCDisk on the Amiga side first aren't you?

Don: I have PCDISK in my Startup-Sequence of Dh0: It is running on the
Amiga Side at startup, along with Services and a few other things. I
recently upgraded to AmigaDos 2.04. I wonder if this could be a problem.
In sum, everything on the Amiga side seems to be working as it should. It
would appear that the MSDOS 5 upgrade somehow prevents JDISK.SYS and the
associated Amiga commands (AREAD, AWRITE, AMOUSE, ATIME and JLINK) from
working. Any suggestions? Should I reinstall them?
I have another question also. I installed a Zoom FaxModem on the
Bridgeboard which works on COM1: However, I cannot get the Bridgeboard to
use the COM port on my Intel AboveBoard I/O plus 8 as COM2: (2F8) I
configured the Intel COM port to 2F8 since the FaxModem must be installed
in an IBM slot. (The faxmodem works perfectly as a 2400 modem and as a 9600
send/receive Fax). Any ideas on how to get the BB to recognize the Above
Board COM port as COM2: so that I can use an IBM compatible mouse?
Odell.

I can't speak to the DOS 2.04 issue, but I can say that MS-DOS 5.0 works
fine on my A2000 with DOS 1.3 and an A2088. I use AREAD, and AWRITE a lot,
…works just fine. Again, I don't have 2.04.

Odell,
NO idea on DOS 5.0. As to using COM2:, that's reserved for the
BB's use so you can't use it for a modem.
No idea if the BB supports COM3: and COM4:
