Gary, (nice meeting you) I am working with SIS, single-image-stereograms, the textured type. When it comes to depth perception, my routine is at least equally good as magic eye's. What was important to me is an adjustable scale of depth, which makes it easy to fine-tune an SIS depending on the model's nature. Currently I get a little jaggyness between the scanlines – I should to work on a filter function. Now that I received IPAS4 I also need to change to using the Z-buffer (instead of depending on fog). BTW: Last year we have produced 'Magic Motion', a CD-Rom with 25 SIS-animations. We were using a kind of painful single-frame technique back then. Boran (uniVirtual pictures)

I'm glad to hear that you're planning on using the zbuffer in r4, Bruce. One of the reasons we put that in was to make the production of stereograms easier. Once you've got an IXP that's finished, please let me know… It would be a thrill for me to make some SIS's! – G

I've been reading about Radom Dot Images for print, but have not heard of there use in moving pictures. If I'm totally off on what your doing let me know. If I am I would be intersted in knowing a little about what you are doing.
