You can turn off the "Cast Shadows" property for the opacity-mapped trees, if you don't want the square's shadow to show. Gene Bodio has come up with a way of doing this, plus making matte objects that are the shape of the shadows to just cast shadows. (I'm not sure of the specifics, but the results are amazing. Maybe you can find his PPN here on the forum and send him an email.) – G

thanks Gary, i already have been playing with that idea and it does do things weird but if you combine them you can get a very interesting result. i would like to send you my latest demo of my tape that i send to clients that i have done in 3ds intirely . and with some very interesting stuff that i don't think you have seen yet in 3ds(although i would suspect that you have seen them all) but this kind of animation i STILL can not duplicate with digital arts software. and to top it off its the most simple of objects yet it gives off the impression that you using wavefront or alias software! please e-mail your recieving address so i can send the new demo to you. sherwood

David, Would you please send me a tape also? I'd be glad to pay repro costs. VHS would do, but 3/4" acceptable. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

This might be forward of me, but I would like to see your tape too. Especially if it has to do with Architectural Stuff. Tell me where to send the check. Anil
