This is a bit of a wandering thread, so maybe I'm not chucking in this comment
at the appropriate point, but…
GVP's assets have been acquired by a company which is well established in the
Amiga market. One of the oldest Amiga-related companies is all I'm allowed to
say. Said company intends to "continue GVP business as usual" as soon as things
can be reorganised. That includes developing new Amiga product, I am told, as
well as continuing the current range and providing technical support for
everything.
I believe it will take a month or two before the new GVP rises from the ashes
of the old.

Now *that* is interesting information. And very positive. I just hope the new
company is better than the old one.

I hope this is true… as I'm sure most of those here do. GVP made some good
products for Amiga, IMO.
And although you cannot divulge any more now, I do hope that you'll squeal like
a stuck pig and tell us all the gory details here in the forum as soon as it's
okay?

It is certainly true. I know that for various business reasons the acquiring
company does not want to make a song and dance about it, mainly because they
intend to let the new GVP run as its own completely independent company;
independent from the acquiring company's present businesses, that is.

God, I hope it's not "business as usual" with the new GVP…the
professional market has all but ignored them for three years now, because
everytime we wanted tech support we left voice mail.
-060 accelerators that use industry standard simms might be worth asking
about, but I got sick and tired of GVP's standard line "they other guy is
doing something wrong in their hardware/software"…every other vendor out
there has gotten identical hardware/software to work with the other guys,
but GVP is still releasing patches to their roms and software…YEARS
after the final versions of the combo boards shipped.
I would like to speak to the buyers of the GVP assets, nonetheless, as
everybody deserves a second chance.

Ah, "as usual" was my term. I simply meant that the new owners plan to carry on
selling the existing range of products, provide technical support, and develop
new products, all under the GVP name.

A month for the new GVP? Well it sounds better than the ubiquitous "two
weeks" for the C= liquidation. Evidently they weren't chartered out of
the Bahamas. <grin>

A month or two is just my guess. There is an amount of reorganising to do (like
finding a new warehouse and shifting the existing stock from the old GVP
warehouse, which has to be done before the end of this month).
