Where does one find Amosaic 1.2? I plan on trying this www internet adventure, but I'm waiting for when I get my 14.4 modem (2400 now) because I see you need MUI and downloading that at 2400 whould certainly take awhile. Do you know of any problems with this new access with an A3000 running 2.04? Seattle Bob…Now a six meg maniac

Mosaic is in Library 4 (Networking). Mosaic requires AmigaDOS 3.x

Bob- I'm not sure whether Mosaic will run at all under 2.0–I think it might at the very least require 2.1. But to really use Mosaic in a meaningful way, and to use 1.3, you need OS 3.1. Mr. Zombie

I've only been able to run Amosaic 1.2 with OS 2.1. Any other version (1.2.1, and the 1.3 beta) all guru bigtime when it tries to display the first picture. Steve

Right, I knew somewhere in there 2.1 support was dropped. A strange thing that's happening to me is that AMosaic will refuse to display some GIFs–it'll expand picture icons, but just to more grey background. I'm not sure why this is. Perhaps I need to switch to another GIF datatype. Currently I think I have ZGif. Mr. Zombie

Last time I checked, Amosaic 1.2 is the file MOSTCP.lha. I use it with 2.1, but intend to upgrade to 3.x RSN. Steve

Yea, upgrading should be in my future…but I hear 3.1 can be a little touchy in A3000s. Seattle Bob…Now a six meg maniac

Bob- What kind of problems have you heard about? Mr. Zombie

Something about the ROMS being printed backwards and a few other glitches. I suppose you are having no problems? Are you set up for the internet yet? Seattle Bob…Now a six meg maniac

Bob- Oh, yeah, there's the thing about getting the ROMs into the machine right, but other than that I haven't heard of anything. I'm trying to get set up for the Internet, but I can't seem to get AmiTCP and/or PPP configured right. I posted a help request about it, so maybe someone will come to the rescue, but the day is approaching! Mr. Zombie

Check out the help file I uploaded, and see if that'll help out. If it doesn't, let me know. I'll see if I can help. (And I'll update the help file too!) Steve

I did. It didn't. 🙁 Or I don't think it did–it definitely didn't completely, but it might have partly. I've kind of lost track of everything I've done, but I could post or u/l all my config files for examination I guess. Mr. Zombie

If you can upload the info to a message here (nicely formatted, of course!) I'll take a look at it. Steve

I could post my dialscript and ppp config file… anything else I should post? (And don't worry, I'll force format them! <G>) Mr. Zombie

Post your dialscript…minus your password. 🙂 your ppp0.config, your resolv.conf, and the script you're running to start it all off (the one with the online command in it). Steve
