Before you start AmiTCP, you need to make the ppp0 online. Seems You use another startnet-script then me. I don't have to login (could this cause any problems with a tcp-application??). >> add net 0.0.0.0: gateway localhost You have no PPP-connect, thus You have no IP-Address for Your computer.
