Jake – I've been using 3DStudio's RCPVGA41.EXP with the VRAM II I'm looking
at, and it's been pointed out to me that that driver is useless with that
card, since it's designed for the VRAM I. Gary Yost suggests I use
Panarender.
I'm probably not going to keep the II; I may go back to my old 1024i or look
at something else altogether. Will Panarender work with a 1024i? Are there
card-specific versions of it?
And do you have a dealer in western Canada, or should I order direct?

Jake's off to Image System's RasterWorld this week in warm and sunny Lake
Placid so I'll answer this for you.
Gary's right, the VRAM II is subtly different from the VRAM I. When we got
our first one in, we had to change a couple of minor things to get it work
properly. Right now, PanaRender supports the 1024i, FastWrite, VRAM I,
and VRAM II. Both the 1024i and FastWrite only support up to 640×480 in 256
colors, the VRAM I supports up to 800×600 and the VRAM II supports a full
1024×768.
I'm not sure where our dealers are in western Canada. If there is one in
your area, we prefer that you deal through them. If you can narrow it down
a bit, I can find out. Or you can just give us a call and find out right
