I have a CBM 2002 monitor which just died. For a while, it would randomly turn
itself off while powered on. Now, it will no longer turn on.
So far, my investigation has shown that the power switch and fuse are OK. There
is line power in the chassis when the switch is on.
Does anyone have some words of wisdom? Is there a common failure mode for this
monitor for which I should look? Is anyone good at fixing them? Does anyone
have a comparable monitor for sale? Does anyone have any secrets of life which
they would like to share?

One of the most common failure modes for all CBM monitors that I've
seen is the solder joints on the flyback transformer. Seems that the
mechanical vibration of the transformer stresses the joints until they
crack, then the joints start becomming intermittant. That causes sparking
which burns the joint and makes it worse.
I've also seen the horizontal output transistor fry and take the power
supply & flyback with it. 🙁
