#Emplant HELP!

I just probably did a foolish thing. I recently bought a used Emplant from
someone here (no, not the foolish thing) and I went out and bought the System
7.5 upgrade (hadn't noticed the word upgrade in the store; duh) package on CD.
Can I use this to install the Mac OS onto a partition once the Emplant arrives
and I get the ROMs? Also, could anyone tip me as to which ROMs are best–or if
there's a difference among the supported ones?
Also, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Mac OS installation
software has no provision for formatting a HD. What can I do to get around
this, other than getting a pre-formatted disk or prepping my HD on a Mac, both
of which I can't do?
Also, can anyone recommend an external CD-ROM drive that will work with both a
WarpEngine controller and the Emplant? I don't think I can swing a 4x drive,
so I'll be getting a 2x or 3x. How much difference will I really see between
2x and 3x? I've heard that most software has to be specifically written to
take advantage of faster drives, and that little software is.

the upgrade 7.5 on cd is the full system,but you must have the right cd driver
on the boot disk that comes with the cd.I bought a 4x cd but can't tell because
the video emulation is to slow on a stock 4000.when you boot the mac emulation
it will request you if you want to format the drive it can't read.

Hmmm. Do all the Apple-provided CD drivers some on the disk? Which are they,
then?
