AMosaic will download a sound file and then tell me that it's spawning an external viewer, but then nothing happens. Why is this so? My mailcap line referring to audio is as follows: audio/*; sys:Utilities/MultiView %s PUBSCREEN=Mosaic I don't really understand the syntax at the beginning of these lines anyway. I assume that this means that any audio file will be sent to MultiView. I have a WAV datatype, yet when I clicked on a link to a WAV, I got the message about an external viewer but then no Multiview! What gives? Also, many times I'll click on a link to a GIF and the GIF will be transferred, but instead of the GIF appearing, the link will just go dark blue at the end of the transfer. Finally, is it possible to view JPEGs with AMosaic? I have a JPEG datatype, although it's pretty darn slow. Should I call VT as an external viewer, with a line like this? image/JPEG; Work:Players/VT %s Is there documentation for this stuff anywhere? Much of the stuff at the AMosaic location–which incidentally takes like 5 minutes per link!–is rather sketchy. Mr. Zombie

There's a program called AMPrefs, available on the AMosaic-webpage which is supposed to simplify your mailcap-settings. I have not tried it myself, but maybe that will help you out. If you start AMosaic for the first time, it opens on your WB-screen. If you like it like that, you will have to remove all the PUBSCREEN=Mosaic-lines. Alternatively you can use MUI to let AMosaic open on it's own screen. I read some tips somewhere to let AMosaic run more stable: – let it run on it's own screen – set Window-Refresh to Simple in MUI – set Redraw to Fast/Ugly in MUI Hope this helps, Karl Van Hoyweghen on AP 1.80 from Belgium email: kvh@pophost.eunet.be

I'll try it. Hadn't noticed any mailcap stuff in AMPrefs, but probably didn't look too hard. Mr. Zombie
