Paul,
Tell me what exactly CyberGraphics does. I have seen post concerning
Cybergraphics and various video cards. Give me the low down. I am thinking of
buying a Picassco II for my A2000. Can and should CyberGraphics be used with
this? Should I consider a retina or some other card. Any help you can give me
in helping me decide would be most welcome.

From what I hear, Cybergraphics, once maturely deployed for a particular card,
is the best choice for that card. It's the successor to the Picasso II
software, and written by the same people. At this point it does not support
the RetinaZ2, and may never, so if you're enhancing your 2000, I'd say a
PicassoII is your best shot.
Cybergraphics basically provides screenmodes for the display database that most
(all?) display database aware programs can use. You can also use Newmode, I'm
told, a pd or shareware or something util to hijack apps that don't give you a
screenmode requester.
For the Spectrum, Cybergraphics is faster and more stable than EGS. C doesn't
support the RetinaZ3's blitter or 24 bit modes yet, so I'm not using it yet,
but I look forward to the day.
C does not allocate chip mem for stuff that's stored on the video card. For
some assinine reason known only to a few Germans, the Retina software does
allocate chip mem–that it doesn't even USE!!!–severely limiting its
usefulness.
C costs, I think, $35 US to register.

From what you have just said am I right in assuming that Cybergraphics already
supports the Retina Z3 apart from the exceptions you mention. At present I have
a 4Mb Retina Z3 card in my A4000 and find the fact it allocates chip a real
pain and would like to use the Cybergraphics software.
