#Bones Pro export mesh?
4 messages in this thread
Am I correct in assuming that I can use Bones Pro to animate the deformation of
a mesh, and then using "snapshot" save out to the 3D Editor
one deformed mesh that I could further refine?

You can't use snapshot to get a copy of the deformed mesh, but you can do it by
saving a "*.GEO" file from the bones pro KXP, and then loading up the bones pro
PXP in the 3d editor, loading the .geo file, and running the PXP. (or something
very close to this. I tried it a couple of times about a month ago)
You can't use Snapshot — Snapshot won't work on an AXP (which Bones Pro is).
However, they've included a way to do this, and it's quite easy (it's in the
Bones Pro manual, so if you already have the product you can look it up —
otherwise, just assume that you can buy the product knowing the capability is
there).
I understand the new Bones Pro will create morph targets over a range, and name
them by frame (for easy morphing!). Since I prefer to use BP without morphs
this doesn't excite me all that much.
Thanks Mike and Tim. I wanted to make sure of that option before I purchased
the program.
