They are right about 500c….it's slow. BUT not only that, I've found it is very difficult to use (actually I have a 500, just b/w) working with different software (1-2-3, WP5.1) and w/o the special paper…you can forget it. The lines bleed bad, especially if you bold. The best color printer that I've found is the QMS-100 Color Laser. It uses thermo (there is always a drawback) but the 300 dpi looks great. Plus it's postscript so there's less jags in the lines….fast…and works great w/ corel.

Robert — Thanx for the info… Funny, the previous messages didn't seem to indicate a need for "special paper" on the 500C… I had a bad experience with a QMS Postscript printer in the past… Not a maintenance problem, just not happy with the print quality (my HP LJ III with a Pacific Page PostScript cartridge blew away the QMS accross the board)… But that doesn't mean I'm not interested — I guess I can try again… Any input on $$ ? — Matt
