Machine is not asleep. Task is asleep. Machine is alert and ready to boogie.
Start another task. NEVER SIT STILL WHILE YOUR MACHINE IS ON. Good use of
computer implies human executing at least as many instructions per second as
the MPU. NEVER WAIT FOR RESULTS. Anticipate all possible outcomes and proceed
with appropriate CASE logic. If the machine catches up with you, you have
lost, you are a loser. Amiga has infinite type-ahead buffer; never allow it to
become empty, this could cause machine to despise you, start giving you 'good
enough for him' results (rounding to nearest thousands, displaying only two
colors etc). If necessary, PURCHASE SECOND AMIGA for purpose of generating
commands to first Amiga in order to keep up you appearance.

Thomas, the type ahead buffer eats memory like a hog – Count on about 4
keystrokes/K of memory.
Don't use an Amiga as a terminal, I just use my good old 128, complete with
DEFINABLE FUNCTION KEYS, and a good little term prog as a terminal into the
inner thoughts of my Amiga!
