Lynn – I'm _not_ criticizing WordPerfect's customer support or update policy in the slightest – I think they're fabulous, easily the best I've ever dealt with, and deserve all the good press they get. But Henry had commented that all WP users got a blind mailing update, and I wanted to set that part of the record straight.

You didn't get 4/15/88 without asking? I was under the impression that 4/15/88 was a "blind mailing."

It certainly should have been but then maybe they decided to make the next one a blind mailing. 73, bill

Hey, what's all this about an April update to WP?? What does it fix? How come it should have been a bling update? I mean, going from August and September 87 was a major step and if anything that should have been automatic. What of equal importance has been fixed?? Thanks.

It's either a 4/15/29 update or 4/29/88 update. You can get it free with a phone call. THere have been lots of fixes since Sept., although being new to Amiga I'm not sure exactly what they are, but I do know the Print program has been revised significantly (tho not to the user I don't think – it's much more reliable)

BTW, Henry, I got MY update today (saturday) and it was 4/15/88, NOT 4/29/88. Organized, huh? You might want to see the two messages I left in section 8 about W(ns)P. –Ben–

The 4/29/88 "rumor" may or may not be a rumor – it may not be a public release, in which case your update is right. I'm still not sure.

I see. Well, as mine was shipped friday from WP, I expect it is the latest. I hope so, anyway. Still trying to make some sense of it; what a poorly designed program. <shaking head> –Ben–

I can only guess at some of what MAY have been worked on for the April release. For example the printer program will still "not wakeup" if the sizing box has been used to reduce the printer window until the printer is selected by clicking on the window. Appearently, the same sort of thing can happen even when the printer window has not been reduce under some circumstances. I don't know if WP even knows about this one yet… but the delete buffer fails to catch the last delete operation at times (this one I just discovered tonight). Turns out to have been a real pain for me and I will be calling them on it monday. 73, bill
