#Silver

Greg, I just got my Silver in the other day in the mail, and I've been having
a lot of fun with it. There were a few nagging things that I felt should
have been done, but, when I reread your message and the update info on Turbo
Silver, they seem to have answered all of my gripes.
Hmmm, when the 1.3 operating system comes out, supposedly it will
automatically detect a math co-processor without any software patches needed.
Would this be worthwhile for Turbo Silver? I just _hate_ waiting to see how
my pictures came out!
Thanks for your suggestion for selecting Silver out of the 3D programs. I
think I made the right choice.
Douglas, Impulse has been busy lately adding more features and converting
Turbo Silver to floating point arithmetic. So yes, when 1.3 comes out, and
if you have a math coprocessor, there will be a version of Turbo Silver that
will take advantage of it.
I you like, drop by this wednesday, 10pm EDT for a formal CO with Stan
Kalisher and Mike Halverson of Impulse.

Greg, everything I have seen from Impulse implies that any future
development that uses the math coprocessor is well into the future. They
keep saying that they want to concentrate on the 'standard' Amiga. This is
just from mailings they have sent me, as well as a letter to them. It
would be great to speed it up even more! Hope you have good, recent info,
because it obviously supercedes mine. Thanks for the word about the CO
this Wed. –jp–
John, tell ya what……I just got a recent version of Turbo (I am a beta
tester) that was converted to integer from floating point math. Seems to
me like they are well on the way to completeing a float version.
Greg, great! I'll be writing them about it. thanks… –jp–

John; Up until about 10 days prior to COMDEX this month, we had been
putting off the re-write for the floating point boards. Just before this
last Comdex, CSA contacted us and asked if we could put something together
for the show, so we did!. We should be able to release the FLoating point
version in about 30 days. Our floating point version, supports the 882 as
well as the 881. and the speed increases we are experiencing are
staggering!. You will be pleased with it i'm sure.
