Chris, I am looking around for 'noreq' but haven't found it yet. I believe that
it is something that Matt Dillon wrote to prevent system requesters from
popping up on the remote system when you are using the cliterm part of DNET.
Unless the remote system is very nearby (in the same room), it is impossible to
click on the gadgets. 🙂
The only entry needed in the mountlist is the one that describes NET:.
DOC/DNET.DOC is in the DNET.ZOO file. At least it is in the one that I got. If
you wish, I can try to E-Mail it to you.
This evening I setup DNET and did a NETMOUNT net: fh0 fh0:, then
assign wb: net:fh0, and THEN did a wb:c/e
It took about 10 seconds to load and start TxEd ( baud set at 19.2k )
All of this typing was done on the remote system.
I tryed 31.5k baud, but got data errors.

I don't think it works well at anything higher than 19.2K either, because
I've gotten errors also. It's sure neat to see a program load from a hard disk
across the room, though! It's giving my 1000 new life!

Steve, Mine too. Now I'll have to get a larger HD for the 2500. 🙂
I will be getting a DSP card from ASDG soon. So that I can leave both the modem
and the DNET system connected.

I've been using SCSIdos3.0 and the CLtd host/controller and have been sucessful
"netting" thru the scsi system, Only problem is the bit-map changes and if you
don't use diskchange before you access sometimes you go see the Guru. I would
imagine using the serial port wouldn't have an affect on the bit-map chris
Chris, Using DNET seems to be the same as running from the CLI, so the system
takes care of all.
I found 'noreq' on ucbvax.berkeley this morning, so I u/l'ed it to CIS
LIB 1. I stuck a minimal note to it. 🙂 (noreq.arc)

Chris, There were/are no docs with 'noreq', just the one that I thru together.
Run with no argument = disable requesters, run with any argument = enable
requesters.

I'm not sure but I think I remember someone saying that the amiga's serial
device had problems running faster than 19.2k baud.

Not so…the Amiga serial port is able to keep up with MIDI speeds (30
some odd K baud) as long as it's programmed properly.
