#UltraVapor???

Steve,
It sure doesn't imbue me with a great deal of confidence. I left one
message on their phone machine with my name, address and phone number
requesting information. I won't be spending any more money on long distance
phone bills.
It's surprising that some of the most powerful software for the Amiga is
produced by small "mom and pop" companies (Innovision as an example). It will
be INTERESTING seeing their demo examples when May 15 comes <grin>.

Unless is something I have a degree of confidence in, I don't order things
unless lots of other people do. That way I can listen to the complaints, or
praises, and take the decision from there. It's saved me more than a few
times. I'll probably get UltraCard, but not until I see some of those demos,
and listen to what other people say about it. It sure has a lot of potential.
Steve
Steve,
Philosophically speaking you're right. I've done the same where hardware
is concerned. Waiting years after initial presentation on such items as CD
players, VCR, remote phones, phone answering machines. My one exception was my
Amiga. I had to hunt down a store in Manhattan for an early A1000 (which I
still have today). I also find it hard not to be "the first guy on the block"
with software. It depends on the utility, price and company, how quickly I
jump to buy it. I think that I'll wait until I see some substantial proof of
value before sending in my check. No vaporware, please.
I hope that UltraCard comes to fruition! I could use such a product.

Gentlemen,
I just got back from a "secluded location" so that I could make sure
that UltraCard does indeed become reality. We are hard at work testing the
product so that you will all be satisfied when it ships. The current
projection is June 15th. Please note: It will ship when it is ready,
hopefully by June 15.
I indeed got your telephone messages but have not yet had time to
return your calls. I appreciate your interest but without a product there
would not have been much reason to talk so I decided that it was a good week to
not answer the phone.
I appologize for "May 15" coming and going but I now have information
and those of you who left your address will indeed get information. Those of
you who are interested would be best served by using EasyPlex to E-mail me your
address or other information path so we can send you the specs.
It IS a real product. I said at the FAUG meeting that it would be
completed by the end of this month and shipping in June and we intend to hold
fast to that commitment!
Mike,
That's great! How soon will be able to see a demo of this product
uploaded here?
Steve
Demo for UltraCard should be available shortly before product ships which is
scheduled for before June 15, 1989.
Demo will include browser and sample stacks.
Will utlracard handle hyper stacks?
Ron
No, according to Mike, it won't handle the Mac Hypercard stacks. — Art
Ron, It was said earlier that UltraCard will NOT handle hyper stacks. It is
only similiar to hyper in concept, with mucho expansions for Amiga stuff.
I would like to see the demo, and see what this is useful for!

Oh I will look at it. Still, I wish developers would remember that Ami does
not sit in a vacumm, and that we would like at least read compatibility with
non-Ami 'data'. Because we don't, many people can't buy Ami's for home use
because they can't take their work home.
Ron
Gee, Ron, anybody with any class would replace the crapintosh at work with an
Amiga <GRIN>!

But I am sure "someone" will create a HyperCard to UltraCard conversion
program, no?
Sincerely, Brian R. Niessen DesignTech Business Systems Inc.
Brian, I still have to see the demo to UltraCad to see if I could even find it
useful to me! Never used a Mac, except to play with one at the Eaton's
computer center in the BrentWood shopping center in Burnaby several years ago.
It was sluggish!
Finally got my dealer to order me a copy of ARexx! Now when Ben's new AVT
system starts shipping around July 1st, I will be ready.

Ben's new AVT system?
