AMI IN FEDERAL OFFICES

This may have happened, I give you that. But let's get some things straight.
(I do love rebuttals!!)
My section of CBM, regional sales has been kicking as much ass as we can trying
to get the Amiga into large accounts. I find your comments inferring lack of
work and imagination personally reprehensible. Currently I know of about 10
major accounts we are bending over backwards for and because you don't know
about them doesn't mean that they're not there. Also, we can't do saturation
marketing like some other people we know because in some cases WE HAVE NO
PEOPLE! It's getting better, since the evaluation units and personnel are
easier to come by now than they were even 6 months ago.
Give us a chance. Seems like I have to make this self-flagellation speech
every three months or so; last time was right as I came onto CIS.
Sorry for the tardiness, but travel schedule was hell and my personal Amiga was
broke for a while. Dud 2052 board I swapped with a friend. Oh well. BTW, am I
too late on this thread? 🙂 andre
Andre, although I think most people feel things are improving, most of
the anger vented is at what has been seen over the past year (notice the great
attempt to remove myself from this message). When people whine about not seeing
ads, not having Amiga known in corporate America, that is because its been a
while and some people expected a change by now.
Also, Andre, while I don't doubt your work for a second (get me in good),
how about other regions? What I can't believe is that the SW Etcs in the NYC
area can't get their hands on any of CBM's video tapes about the Amiga. I walk
into a non-chain store, Leigh's, and I see seven tapes on the wall. My local sw
etc didn't even know they existed. When I made him call CBM, we were told to go
through the company organization, which could be reasonable, but I don't see
why it should be necessary.
— Ethan P.S. Is there anything against duplicating those tapes for
promotional use?
Andre,
How can I get someone to come in with a 2500 with a bridgeboard to do a demo in
our graphics department? I would be VERY WILLING to work with them to adapt a
demo to our existing environment and help sell it. I would warn in advance
that extremely high-quality output is desired. I am at PaineWebber, in the NYC
office.

Gabe,
Do you work with or know Lee and Barbara Isgur? If so, tell Lee "hi" for
me. Also tell him I'm glad he was 100% incorrect in his in his analysis of CBM
the last time we met.
Well, Lee Isgur *is* with PaineWebber and in the Investment Banking Division,
but I have no direct contact with him. When did you meet him? What,
specifically, was his appraisal of CBM?
If I *do* have contacts with him, I *will* pass the hello and the CBM-comment
along.
–Gabe
I met Lee and Barbara several years ago when I was associated with Michael
Reichmann (before, during, and after Michael's stint with Batteries Included).
The last time we met face to face was the Winter CES immediately following the
release of Amiga. For the 6-9 months prior to that he had been advising his
clients to dump CBM. At that time it was his feeling that CBM would go into
bankruptcy within 6 months.
Contact Joe Marlino, National Technical Manager (also NE adjunct) or Ken Weber
(VP Sales) at Commodore Corporate. It might help a lot to send a letter to
these people, but if you want to call, the number is 215-431-9100.
Best of luck to you. If it were in my region I'd take it up myself. andre
Hmm…as mentioned before, please bring this up with me in eplex, stating
details such as geographic location, etc. I will forward you to the proper
region (unless it's the southeast, and then you've come to the right place.)
Again: any requests goto eplex: 72077,3301. Th
Andre,
Please Email me about something that would be of interest to you.
