Service Industry Demo?

Steve,
Have you got an Amiga demo of Service Industry Accounting ready yet? I'm
ready for it. Will a crippled demo of it be available here in your library?

We just started to ship out the Evaluation Disk for Service Industry
Accounting. It contains the real software (can't close a month) and a
sample database — no manual.
We only charge for the shipping and handling – $10.
Call Jay-Arr at my office (408) 395-3838.

Tim Avery here. I don't know if you mber me or not, but I'm the guy
who was working with EasyLedgers. I've been using it now for some time,
and can now give you detailed feedback.
It's a good program (the *only* decent accounting program for the
Amiga) but it needs some work:
1. My version (B2) crashes about once every couple hours or so, but
sometimes
after only 10 minutes. It always crashes when entering invoices. I
have
two Amiga 2000s, and it happens on both machines. Gotta be the
software.
The Rebuild facility restores the files with no data loss, but it takes
about 10 minutes for a rebuild. At three crashes a day, that's half an
hour gone. 2. The program prints most reports involving accounts in
the order the
accounts are listed in the books. That sucks…put in a
alpha/numerical
sort routine. 3. I Would like to see the inclusion of a report
generator, rather than a
raw dump to another program (but keep the dump for spreadsheets). 4.
There's no way to calculate finance charges. Heck, even B.E.S.T. had
that… 5. When choosing "Print Invoice", allow the operator to type
in an
invoice number, rather than having to accept the system's number. 6.
Change the Cash Sale operation so that Cash Sales automatically go
into the Bank, rather than having to do a separate "receipt" from
"Cash Sale" to get the money in the bank.
Other than these gripes (the crashing being the most serious, `natch) I
think EasyLedgers is a very good program that could be made even better. I
only hope that Amiga sales of this product allow the development to smooth
things out.

Thanks for the feedback, Tim. Interesting, though, all the changes you
suggested have been made in the IBM version. As you perceived, there might
not be enoug{_h{_{
interest in the Amiga market t{_o merit further
development. We'}ill {_{_wait and see.
Steve-
T'would be a shame, though. I think at least one final update
instituting these changes in EasyLedgers would be in order. The program is
functional as it is, but the one decent accounting program for the Amiga
deserves better.
Thanks for the feedback.
