Dubuggers? Why?

personally I prefer interpretative debuggers. Ever used Saber-C on a Sun?
With the new generation machines I'm likely to prototype in Rexx then port
for production for this reason. Right now I do prototyping and algorithm
development in Modula-2 and port my release code, which has to go to a Unix
environment to C later. It may be a convoluted way of doing things but I
have to write enough code in C for my regular job and I find a complete
shift of mindset outweighs all the differences between languages. This
Manx/Lattice debate has become very silly, who cares? Anyway wasn't it
supposed(??) to be the ultimate portable language?
Yeah, 'portable C'….now there's a laugh.

I'm really trying to stop this languages debate, not fan it. The following
(1960) quote from S. Gill, one of the early pioneers of automatic
programming really summarizes my views on the whole subject.
"If computers had existed in the Middle Ages, programmers would have been
burned at the stake by other programmers for heresy"
Perhaps we should all reflect on this.
Not yet – I'm not finished gathering combustibles for Mike's immenant
demise in the flames.
