#ProWrite Upgrade

I just got my upgrade, and while the program seems to be running great,
I did notice one BIG BUG in the upgrade. The bug is this: While I recieved
the upgrade, manual, disks, even the T shirt in good working order, I
DIDN'T GET ONE OF THOSE NEAT NEW BOXES!! Boy was I disapointed! <grin>
Seriously, 3.0.1 is great, and the defaults that are set in the program are
perfect for me, I hardly even needed to change anything!

Mike,
Glad to hear you like the upgrade.
We don't send new boxes with our upgrades–they cost quite a bit, and would
bump the shipping charge up to boot–but if you really want one we can sell
you one. I don't recall right now the price we are asking, but if you call
us at (512) 328-6650 someone who does know can help.

I mailed my upgrade coupon the day after I received the upgrade notice (for
ProWrite 3.0) and haven't heard anything (that was several weeks ago). Am I
still on the list, or am I just begin impatient (yes, I admit it, I am).
Looking forward to the upgrade: Mike Lawrence. Thanks.
James:
I was ONLY KIDDING!!! I think the new ProWrites a great program, and quite
an advance from 2.5! Once I get ProScript (my local dealer has had it on
order with his distributor for a while now) I will really start to give
PW3.0 a work out. Oh, BTW, how does one specify a different PS font size
from the ones that there are screen fonts for?

Mike,
ProScript comes with screen font sizes of 9, 10, 12, 14, 18, and 24 points.
To get different font sizes you would need different screen fonts. The
simplest way to do this is to use a font editor (such as the one that comes
with the Amiga), and scale one of these fonts to the size you need.

James:
Are your screen fonts direct replacments for the ones that GDisk supplies
with ProPage? (in other words, can I use your screen fonts, instead of
GD's, and still have ProPage run right? I also guess I'll have to makeup
screen fonts in different sizes for the other CGfonts in the GD font
collection, as they only give 12 & 24.

The GD/CG font collection contains softaware that will create a screen font
at any point size, right? — Art

Well, sort of… The program works OK, however the size you specify and the
size you get are 2 different things!, AND the font file isn't named
properly either. I've had better luck using the utility they supply with
Pro Page to scale fonts, However that program will only run on fonts that
have a metric file for them, and the fonts it makes aren't the prettiest
(but they do the job OK).

Mike,
Yes, you can use the ProScript screen fonts with PPage.

Great Day to be Alive
You know Mike I even ask the to charge me for a new box and they didn't
even reply and say no I just got my upgrade. Try fitting the new manual
into the old little blue box, no go. I bought prowrite right after I bought
my first Amiga. it was only out for a week or to I bought this great
Program because it gave me all the features I needed, I was used to GEO's
for 64 and when I switched to the Amiga Prowrite was the only program that
gave me the Options I was used to. Oh Well I guess the Box costs more than
the Manuel and disks. B^#) <- Picture of me.
