Has anyone read the GREAT review that the 3000 got from Computer Shopper
magizine? It was a great article! Glad to see the Amiga getting such good
reviews in other publications!!

They had a lot of nice stuff on Amiga in this issue, including that famous
piece of kitchen appliance 🙂 called toaster!

I did see the Video Toaster screen in the picture. It looks like a nice
program.
Question? What do you think GVP and the Flicker Fixer people will do with
their prices once the 3000 becomes available? The GVP 030 card with the
harddive and ram is pretty $$. It does run at 33mzh instead of 25.
I was wondering about that today.

GVP dropped the prices on their accelorator cards substantially. I don't
remember the exact figures, and I don't dare guess, but if I remember
right, it comes to getting the accellerator plus four megs 32-bit memory
for about the price the card alone used to cost.

Thanks for the info Jane. I might keep my 2000 and add the GVP and Flicker
Fixer so I can use it at work. I'll keep the 3000 at home. 🙂

You know what I liked best about this month's computer shopper? During
their special on multimedia, in the *IBM* section, the author of the
article admits that CBM is the current leader in multimedia. Must have
been awfully humbling, eh?

xDYou have that one right! I have yet to read the rest of the mag. I'{ll
have to go thru it. I am glad to see the Amiga get some attention.

As long as the 2000 is popular, and perhaps still being made (does anyone
know this?) I suspect they'll keep selling Flicker Fixers for a while. And
there are plenty of 2000's out there for both the FF and the gvp boards,
though in time I expect that prices will slide. But GVP will no doubt be
working on products for the 3000. And maybe a new FF will show up to, with
the new chip set for the 2000, further improve the 2000's video. That
would be nice.

The 3000 does not replace the 2000. The 2000 demise will have to wait for
another machine as CBM considers the target markets different.

It is in the June issue. It is a good review! It sure is tough
flipping thru the 780 some odd pages! It is a huge mag!
