I just downloaded NComm. I ran the install program but I still get a c a
couldn't find XPR Library error when I start it up. Can anyone suggest what
the problem might be?

Do you have any xpr#?.library files in your LIBS: directory? You might
check which one it's looking for and either change it or make certain that
you have it there.

I have XPRKermit.lib, XPRZmodem, and XPRBPlus.lib in my lib. Do I need an
XPR lib for each type of transfer (i.e. x-modem, y-modem) also or are some
of those included in the basic operation of NComm 2.0?

I'm afraid I can't answer specifically about NComm, since I don't use it.
(Perhaps someone else familiar with the program might be able to help.)
The only answer I can offer is the obvious one – if NComm is complaining
about it not being there, it must be necessary.
If I recall correctly, library names may be case sensitive, so if those
are the exact names from your directory, you might try renaming the files
to be all lower case filenames. (All the xpr#>.library files in my libs:
directory are lower case.)

You need xprzmodem.library v2.5 with Ncomm v2.0. If you can use zmodem then
there is no point in using x or ymodem. Kermit is redundant from the Amiga
point of view when accessing 99% of all bulletin boards etc.

I can agree with all sorts of criticisms of Kermit – but it has a
redeeming feature that makes it worthwhile: it can handle transfers under
conditions that break nearly everything else. But I would use it as my
next-to-last choice. Even Kermit is better than XModem.
