To anyone,
I've seen this question posted before, but never an answer.
I have a SCSI controller (Mylex 32 bit EISA). Why do I need another
controller for my CD-ROM (Sony CDU-541)? Can I chain them together?
If so, how? Are special drivers needed?

One reply I received earlier said "no problem" regarding conflicts between
my existing IDE controller and a SCSI for the CDROM, but I don't know about
chaining them. Sorry.

Robin, you might want to look at the PC Mag review of 10/29/91 for some
info, especially on the CDU_7211, the external version of your 541. Among
other things, it mentions that Future Domain made the SCSI interface for
Sony on those models, so they might be able to advise you if Sony can't, a
not unusual problem. Kevin–
