I have just uploaded some new files to the Library. The first is a module which greatly simplifies the Amiga's animation routines by automatically building all the data structures needed for complex objects. The second is a low-level audio library and a collection of sound effects. I hope you will find these utilities useful. I also encourage you to check out the files I uploaded a few weeks ago. They include a full Modula-2 make facility which is very useful when you are working with programs constructed out of many individiaul modules. In addition, there is a file with an update to the FindImages module which fixed the only known conflict with AmigaDOS 2.0. Please, let me know if you find these uploads useful and if I should continue to upload new programs from time to time. Thank you! >> Leon Frenkel <<

Leon, Thank you for uploading the source code. I did try compiling the Anim modules and had some compiler errors. Would you mind taking a look at it? If I recall, there was a variable missing and a parameter list error in Amim.mod. I tried it a few days ago and didn't take notes, so this is as close as my brain will take me. -Dave

Hi Dave: The last time I compiled it was ok, it does use all the add-on libs so you have to have those in the search path. Let me know the specific problem and I will check into it. >> Leon Frenkel <<

Ok, I have the compiler running… GelsUtil and SimpleAnim all compile fine. Anim.mod – 3 errors Error 50: identifier not declared or not visible DefaultRingTrigger – not found Error 65: fewer actual than formal parameters StartSeq(); Error 65: fewer actual than formal parameters StartSeq(); Test.mod – ok. I haven't looked at the source at all, so I suspect Test must be dependant upon Anim.mod? Test opens a screen and exits immediately without error notification. -Dave

Sorry, I forgot to save that last post unformatted. Here it is again… GelsUtil and SimpleAnim all compile fine. Dave: The Test.mod and Anim.mod are both separate test programs. The anim.mod should not have been in the archive, it was an old test program. You can basically delete it. Just use the test.mod program for experimentation purposes. >> Leon Frenkel <<

Gotcha, Leon. Umm, exactly what is the Test executable supposed to do? All it does is open a screen and immediately close down for me (I am running 2.04 in ROM if that matters in any way). -Dave

Hi Dave: The Test program is just an example of how you would setup an animation using the Amiga's Animation routines. The Animation module handles all the complex linkage for all the data structures. When the Test program is initializing it attempts to load several image files and then starts an animation loop. Look at the source code and you will see that it references some filenames. If you want to experiment with animation I suggest using Dpaint to draw some components of a larger object and then modifying the test program to use your images. >> Leon Frenkel <<
