#2090 & SCSI drives
7 messages in this thread
HELP ! I just inherited an Amiga 2000 with either a 2090 or a 2091 drive
controller (it's autobooting) and an Seagate ST 251 drive. I received no
documentation or software for the card. I would like to use my Supra SCSI
drives which I was using on my 1000. Can anyone tell me how to do this,
preferably without reformatting the drive, or point me to some literary
work that can help me?
Your help is greatly appreciated!

Steve,
Go to your dealer's and borrow a copy of their manual, there's lots
of information in it you'll need relative to how to set drives up, how to
PREP them and how to create additional partitions.
Don
Don, Thanks for the tip, however it'll be some time until I'm able to get
to the closest dealer, the stores more than an hour away. That's why I
tried the forum, besides I've received better info here than at that
particular deal.

STeve,
Well..ok, you'd need the equivalent of about 10 pages out of the
manual, so that hour drive will end up being worth it.
If you have any questions beyond that…we'll be glad to help here.
Don
Don;
That many pages hunh? Ok I'll make the drive. Thanks again.

STeve,
Obviously…call first, make sure they'll let you borrow it long
enough to get a copy made…or at least take enough notes so you know how
to set things up.
Don
Don, It turns out I'm having trouble with the drive, it takes a super long
time to validate upon booting. The drive I'm using on my 1000 is a t
rodime, so I've gone ahead an bought a Supra Wordsync controller card. This
way I can boot off my rodime and not have to reformat it. Thanks for your
help>
Steve.
