I've got a CD player that I've been using with my Mac for a year or so (Textel) and am wondering if there's any way to use it with my new notebook PC instead? Is it possible with just a new cable and software?

Hal, It should work with your PC, but you'll need an interface board, cable and software. Frank

Thanks for the reply. Do you know of any external (no board) adapters and software? My new Z-Note doesn't even have enough room for bread crumbs between the keycaps, much less a board <g>. (Sorry for the delay, I've just come back to DOS from the Mac (now that was easy) and I'm playing with a new comm program (OZCIS) and didn't even know I'd gotten a reply to my message until today. Thanks again.)

If the drive is a SCSI, it may work with Trantor's Mini-SCSI connector. The Mini-SCSI will allow you to plug it into your parallel port. Call Trantor at 415-770-1400. Hope this helps. Frank

Thanks. I just did and they say it will, so I think I'm in business. ~\~ v Hal
