Hi Gary, Jack and all, I just got a nice, inexpensive graphics pad/tablet called the Acecat 5×5. I can't get it to work with AniPro in tablet mode. It has a driver to emulate a Summa 9×6 tablet and it has Autocad ADI drivers, but these don't work with ani. Do you or anyone else have any suggestions on how I can get this to work? I bought it for use with AniPro. It works in mouse mode, but that is far from adequate. Thanks in advance, Drew

Drew – The Animator Pro Installation and Configuration Guide discusses only support for the Summagraphics MM1201 12×12 tablet. If the AceCat only emulates the 9×6 tablet, then I doubt that it will work with AniPro. Animator Pro cannot use AutoCAD drivers. AniPro can use .IDR drivers, written by manufacturers and third parties for devices not supported directly by AniPro. Perhaps the AceCat people could be convinced to write an .IDR driver. I realize that I've not offered you much hope. Perhaps some other forum members have experience with the AceCat, and can provide more insight than I can.

Thanks, I hope someone else has better news than that! The Acecat is really inexpensive and convenient, I hope I can get it to work. What does it take to write an idr driver anyway? I notice that there aren't any up in the forum libraries here. –Drew

Drew – See the reply from Doug Vaughan in this thread. The AceCat manufacturers told him that the tablet (5×5) should work with Ani Pro. Can you describe more specifically the problems you're having ?

Thanks, Jeff. I just got in touch with Acecat and they are sending me out a piece of software that might do the trick. If it works, I'll let you all know about it. –Drew

Sorry to butt in. I just called the manufacturer of Acecat and they told me that the 5×5 tablet worked with MS-Windows, Anim Pro, Corel Draw and several other Autodesk products. If this is incorrect then they shuld be told. I think they consider their ADI drivers and 9×6 converter program to allow conpatibility with most Autodesk products. Just thought you may want to know. Doug.

Thanks for the info Doug. I will ask Drew more specific information about the problems he has.
