#3DS2 lockeps?
2 messages in this thread
I Just got my copy of 3DS2 yesterday. It installed ok (although I had a bad
disk 2 on two of the three machines I tried to back it up on. This is the
second Autodesk product that I've had a disk problem with in the last month
or so) but it locks up on occasion.
I'm using a 386-25 right now (soon to be a 486-50) with a VESA VGA as the
normal display and a Targa+ 16/32 as the rendering display and an ADI VTR
controller from Lyon Lamb.
Sometimes whan I've loaded and rendered a couple of scenes, the system
locks up when I right click the mouse to return from the rendering screen.
Once today it went into huge characters when I switched to the keyframer
and then cold started the machine. My 3DSR1 system set up the same way
(except for a Panarender driver for the VGA) works fine and is stable.
(I'm using QEMM386 6.0 to provide EMS for Stacker.)
Any Ideas??
Chris
It sounds like there's an ADI conflict — something's getting confused
after rendering when it re-reads the ADI packets. What are _all_ of the
drivers that you're using (display, rendering, VTR, etc> and what's your
save-last-image set to (perhaps this is getting confused by Stacker).
Please try using just the standard VGA display for the user interface and
you might also take Stacker out of the loop for awhile. See if you can
reproduce the problem under those circumstances.
