Hi John It is so; I need a portable more than I need an Amiga. Byte just keeps rolling along, and I still have access to the Toaster-equipped 2500 in the Multimedia Lab, so I won't have to suffer Amiga withdrawal.

Actually, I'll settle for a nice little (5 lb.) 386sx with a nifty active-matrix display. I can't spend my ENTIRE life waiting for a portable Amiga. 😉

Bob, Have a look at the Amiga 600. It is just slightly heavier than the Toshiba 2200SX I bought recently (for my genealogical research), and not much bigger. Comes with a hard disk and can be plugged into a TV set or a monitor. It is not quite the same as having a monitor that folds over the screen, but it's a neat little Amiga. Betty

Betty, One minor correction, the A600HD comes with a hard disk. The A600 does not, to my knowledge. David

Bob, Just FYI … My dealer's price for a 3000 25mHz/50 with 2M ram and 1960 monitor (higher resolution than the 1950) is $2585. -sja

Suresh, The Computer Room in Greenwood Village, CO — 303-799-9733. The price that low because CBM is offering a $500 rebate on the 3000 system. My dealer is working it so he gives you the $500 off and he worries about getting the rebate from CBM — so your actual out of pocket cost is $2585 (plus tax if applicable).

Oh, I don't expect to get $2500 for the thing; it's just a lot easier coming down in price than discovering you didn't ask enough in the first place.
