#Compatibility help
5 messages in this thread
Hi all!
I'm getting ready to upgrade my Amiga 2000HD, and what I need to
know about is some potential compatibility problems that I have heard
rumored about. Here is what I want to do, I want to put in a G-Force
68030/25Mhz/1MB accellerator in, AND I want to put in the AtOnce Plus 286
emulator board. A friend of mine said that he heard that the two were
incompatible. I would hate to lay out over a thousand bucks for these two
and come up with incompatible hardware. What does anyone know about these??
Also, what if I want to put a high density 5 1/4" or 3 1/2" drive on
AtOnce….is it possible? Anything anyone can tell me about these two would
be very helpful. I could go to the A2286, but at 8Mz I would go crazy
waiting around (I use a 33Mhz 386 machine at work). I have asked questions
here on this forum before and ALWAYS gotten excellent advice….can you
help??? Thanks! Jamie Severe [70003,302]
Jamie,
Contact the manufacturer's or your dealer and get a guarantee from
them that the products will be compatible…or you can return them for a
full refund.
Or, they could tell you the products aren't compatible.
Don
Jamie,
I have also heard of the compatibility problem between the GVP accelerator
and the AtOnce Plus 286. In this case, since you want to specific
verification, it's probably worth your while to call GVP and ask, since
they make the G-Force board, and are the US distributor of the ATonce-PLUS.
Their phone numbers are:
(215) 337-8770 (TEL)
(215) 337-9922 (FAX)

message….ooops! Again, thanks mucho! Jamie
Jamie,
Glad to help out, 8)
Thanks for changing the handle. (One of the interesting things I've seen
CIM do is to use a handle to Join forums. It surprised me once, and so I
now when I use CIM for access, I don't have an automatic nickname
specified.)
