Hi! I'm an Argentine Amiga user, and next week I will go to the U.S. for business meetings. Here in Argentina, Amiga pheripherals are hard to find, and very expensive, too (I bought my DCTV unit for 700 u.s. dollars!!). So, I want to take advantage of my trip, and buy all the Amiga hard and soft that I ever dreamed of. I will stay in Indiannapolis, Indiana, for 7 days. And I will want to know from the Amiga users, if there are any good Amiga stores to buy hardware and software (I hope). I am looking for the following software: – Final Copy word processor. – The Art Department Professional 2 (v2.1) – Fred Fish collection on CD-ROM – CD-ROM FS (I want to use my PC's NEC CDR-73M with my Amiga!) – CDTV emulation software (from Xetec) – Deluxe Paint IV (v4.1) and Caligari 2 and the following hardware: – Series III software upgrade & an external power supply for my SupraDrive 500XP – Gold Disk Video Director – AmigaDOS 2.0 upgrade kit for my A500 and a MultiStart board. Keep in mind that I will go for business, not as a tourist (as I would like) so I'll not move from the city center. So, I'm waiting for your comments, Amiga (and CompuServe!) users of Indianapolis I hope you can help me with my "work & amiga-shopping" trip to the U.S. (I appreciate very much if you can tell me of nice places to visit in the city) I visited N.Y. and San Francisco, but it's the first time I'll go to the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway city! Thanks, Fernando Cassia Buenos Aires, Argentina

Fernando: I don't know of an Amiga dealer in Indianapolis, although once you get there, you may be able to find one listed in the yellow pages of the phone book under COMPUTERS. About an hour's drive southeast of Indy, in Florence, Kentucky, there is a great Amiga: Expert Services 606-371-9690 FAX: 606-371-9691. I'm sure if you called them with your list of products, they could arrange to bill them to a credit card and ship them to you FEDERAL EXPRESS to wherever you're staying in Indianapolis. I hope someone else here knows of a dealer in Indianapolis to send you to. RESTAURANTS: ST ELMOS'S – New York Style steak house (great shrimp cocktail & steak) across from the Pan American Skating Pavallion, downtown MARK PI'S China Gate – best chinese food in Indianapolis next door to St Elmos GREEK ISLAND – terrific, tiny, family run Greek resstaurant, a long walk or short cab ride from downtown… tell George (the host) I sent you (beer & wine only, no liquor) try the Leg of Lamb!

Thanks for the great info!, but it seems like you're the only one Amiga user near Indianapolis… I will take the plane at sunday night! Do you know the address of any Amiga service center where I can get the 2.0 upgrade kit for my A500? Thanks again. And some news: I will stay 2 days in New Orleans! (do you know anything about it?). Business are business….

Fernando… I'm afraid that I can't haelp you out with New Orleans. From what I hear, 2.04 upgrade kits are in short supply, but you might try calling Expert Systems at the numbers I left in my previous message. I have also dealt with The Grapevine Group in New York (914-357-2424) and Memory World in Bensalem, PA (215-244-7930 fax: 215-244-7932). While I haven't delat with them, you could also contact Software Hut, Inc in Philadelphia, PA (215-462-2268 fax: 215-339-5336).

I just want to make a couple minor suggestions on your purchases. First: if you buy the Xetec software, you don't need CDROM-FS. The Xetec software will work with your drive, and comes with Fish disks up to 470. Second: you might want to consider Draw 4dPro as opposed to Caligari2. I have both and prefer Draw4dPro…it will provide an easier into to 3-D, and they have a *SUPER* upgrade planned for August.
