I have an A3000UX which I believe came with a "2-user" license. Is it possible to upgrade the license to "unlimited"? -Jay Pedersen

Jay: I too have an A3000UX, and it's also the 2-user version. Unfortunately I have the 1.1 release, not the final 2.1, as Commodore has discontinued the Unix product, and doesn't even support it anymore. I'm not sure if you can still get upgrades or not, but if you can, I'm certainly gonna get the latest version SVR4 Amiga version 2.1 if I can. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news 🙁 // -Mike Schiller \X/ AMIGA! On AutoPilot in sunny Fort Lauderdale

Good old Commodore. Did you hear any reasons? I know it wasn't compatible with 68040, and it was unlikely to ever be compatible with it. Was it the AGA? They didn't want to bother to support AGA for the Amiga Unix? Just curious, I guess it's water under the bridge now. Did this happen real quietly, or did I just miss the messages – I haven't checked the Amiga Unix forum for a bit – normally it is empty – some surprise huh? -Jay Pedersen

Jay: It was real quiet (as usual). I really don't know what the reason was, but being that we ARE talking about Commodore, it could be anything! 🙂 // -Mike Schiller \X/ AMIGA! On AutoPilot in sunny Fort Lauderdale
