#Analog Joystick I'face?

Can anyone tell me the hookup necessary to convert a standard analog
joystick to something that the Amiga will like? As a "techie", I'd hate to
buy something like this when I can make it, but I don't know where to find
the schematic.

For $14.00 you can buy an interface from Digiprint. I have one and it
works wonderfully. Give it a try. Tennex carries them and if you can't
find one call them direct at 804-560-1769. Ask for Gene and tell him
Peter gave you the #.

Just rewiring the joystick port could take a bit of work but I think
there is a file somewhere here or in the Amiga section of the Airwarrior
library that explains it. See if the Sysops can help with the name of it.
IMHO it might just be better for you to get the Digiprint interface. It
has a miniature PC board in it and a three position sensitivity switch in
it that insure its compatibility with as many joysticks as possible.

I could get another one I've been trying to build to work with one of the

You'd have to know the wiring codes of your joystick but the pinouts of
the Amiga joystick/mouse ports are pretty well documented (my "A4000" book
lists "POTX" as Pin 5 and "POTY" as Pin 9 in "Appendix B: Input/Output
Connector Pin Assignments). Good luck.
Yeah, but I wondered if there was any resistor scaling and the like
internally. If it's just a matter of hooking up the stick's outputs to the
port's analog inputs, that's no problem.
