Yea, it is indeed looking like I'll need that A4000 now.
P.S. Me steal your clients? As another says 'I'm just a soft, loveable
little fuzzball'! 🙂

Speaking of our Fave Disgusting Heroes. Has anyone thought to make 3D
Models of Ren and Stimpy?????? Iknow I'd pay $30-$40 for a set of good 3D
Models of Ren and Stimpy. Maybe I'll TRY my hand at Ren since I've got a
Stuffed Ren on my Monitor as we Type.
Does your Ren fart when you squeeze it? Mine does.
Oh Joy!

Stimpy should be the one to fart. Remember "Son of Stimpy"?
Vance
No, Mines just a Standard Plush Toy that my Wacko Cousin Jessica gave me
at Xmas. I tried Modeling him, What a Fiasco, I got SOMETHING But I dunno
what it is. All I know is it looks NOTHING like Wee Ren Hoek.
Methinks i'll have to try harder and Concentrate more on this Beastie.
The problem with modelling Ren & Stimpy is that they keep changing shape
every second in the cartoon. *8)

I meant using the Plush Toys of Ren and Stimpy to use for comparison to
your Modeling. I cringe at the thought of using a VCR and shuttling back
and forth to model a 3D object.
Actually I was thinking more on the lines of Rush Limbaugh 🙂

To be honest, I haven't even worked with it. I added up some figures on
how much I could get out of my A2000 Toasted – shew –taking a beating
already. I'm getting a bit nervous with this A4000 Toaster stuff because
that has the distinct possibility of committing the same economic havoc
against my A2000 as what Commodore did to folks wanting to sell their
A500's. Don't want to eat too much of it. The time seems right to sell –
I could buy the A4000 *without* a Toaster or a Monitor –or–an IBM 386DX
clone with SuperVGA, 80MegHD, 6 Mb Ram and Windows for $1100. Played
X-Wing tonight — WOW WHAT A GAME! My main question about this is Can
NewTek and the AGA chip set bring the software companies back???
If I play the waitn'see game – I get bit.
I just know I'd have some serious Toaster withdrawal as well as miss my
Amiga, but I have'nt the intention to eat a couple thousand.
Even so, if I'd go for an A4000 I'd still have to couph up the extra for a
monitor and the VT 4.0 (3.0 – whatever). Those two themselves are around
$12-$1300 – so I guess they've got me either way.

Here's a Quick Reason I can give ya IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT. I currently
Cannot. The new A4000/Toaster Combo will allow you to record yer anims
to Video Tape using pretty much any VCR. I haven't seen this feature
yet(will next week tho at Amigo Business Machines) so I can't say how
it would compare to Single Framing but if the 30 FPS is a CONSISTENT
30 FPS it will be PERFECT for Consumer/Prosumer/Industrial Video In
My Humble Opinion
Peter,
It IS a perfect 30fps or 24 fps. With a maxed out 4000 (ramwise) you can
half about 5.5 seconds of realtime animation recordable to any VCR.
JG
Newtek is still using garden variety HAM8 for the anim, right. If so
why can't the switcher run it as a HAM8 anim straight off the
Harddrive? Then you wouldn't have the 5.5 seconds limitation.
As far as I know, the limittion is because it is FULL screen absolutely
realtime playback.

Where is documentation for the Arexx link to Lightwave? I can't even
find the name of the Port.
Paul,
If you call Tech Support, they can send out docs. Right now LW arexx
basicaly allows for rendering images–primarily used for networks.
The name of the port is LightWaveArexx.Port.
Thanx for the info John. Will be seeing the new Toaster in Action at
Amigo Business Machines Next Friday. As I was saying to Rod Massman I
imagine the 30 FPS Playback via Ham8 in the new Toaster/A4000 will be
Perfectly Acceptable for SVHS,Hi8,8mm or VHS Tape output.
Hopefully in a year or two when I have those BIG BUCKS! I'll be back
into Amiga DTV – but for now I think it's wiser to sit this one out
until Commodore decides to run with a line that's up/downwardly
compatible (AGA/AAA chips in mind). I think I'll let the dust settle
and do some SERIOUS animating then. Hope I get the chance to talk
with You, Eric and Lee again, and all you other folks out there in a
year or two!! 🙂 (Standing by for offers on my Toaster System)
