Michael.. AmigaDOS 1.3 is dead and archaeic. Those that need it can buy a cheap ROM switcher. PageStream 3.0 being the professional DTP tool it is supposed to be should be able to take advantage of Datatypes and other 2.x/3.x features. Don't even bother with 1.3… I know of no one that uses current software professionally and still uses that old kickstart. In fact, being that PgS 3.0 requires a hard drive, what kind of people expect to have a professional system on 1.3? Anyone that runs 1.3 still either does so because they want to play games, has old productivity software and is not using it professionaly, or can't afford it and probably couldn't afford PgS either. My suggestion, use the lowest common denominator of shipping product. That means OS 2.x, being that 3.x is only available for AGA machines at this time. A good example is the MAC community where DTP has it's largest audience… Each update requires a higher and higher OS. Some require system 7 and some new apps require system 7.1 to take advantage of all the features. To make PgS compatible with 1.3 for the sake of a few, it would be like Aldus making PageMaker compatible with MAC OS 5.x (which was what was available when 1.3 was first released.) Of course, that would be rediculous. -Jonathan

Michael, I agree with Jonathan…there is no excuse for prospective upgraders to PageStream 3.0 to still be running under AmigaOS 1.3. Forget about 1.3 support; when it comes to serious systems (the kind likely to be running legitimate copies of PgS) 1.3 is dead and gone. -Dave (via AutoPilot)

Well, for me that might be the final straw for 1.3 – I HAVE 2.04, but haven't had time to install the WB! (have Multistart, so the KS is working) I use PgS frequently, and like to keep up with changes. – Jane McAshan, 73030,1601
