#big 386 BB sale over
10 messages in this thread
For all those people waiting on 386 BB's, I called Safe Harbor this
past Monday, May 3. The salesperson answering the telephone said that the
386 BB's were expected this week.
Safe Harbor is no longer taking orders for the 386 bridgeboard at any
price. There is no word yet from Commodore about the 486 bridgeboard.
BTW, Dave Cineg, when are you coming out with the Pentium
bridgeboard?

Once AMD markets its version of the Pentium for a nickel (or something
more reasonable than a grand!), perhaps then?
Anyway, the big sale and subsequent 'feeding frenzy' is over until the
next time. Now it's just a matter of waiting for the mailman or UPS
person, etc.

For all those who feel left out of Safe Harbor's sale on 386
bridgeboards, take heart. TENEX at 800-776-6781 is now offering the 386
BB for $189.99. TENEX Computer Express is at 56800 Magnetic Drive,
Mishawaka, IN 46545.
Wonder how long it will be before they run out! Sales II now playing!
BTW, TENEX is selling the XT bridgeboard for $79.99 in their Summer
1993 catalog.

I called Tenex, ( I'm waiting for my 386 from Safe Harbor, hoped they
had em in stock ) they said they are not expecting their shipment from C=
till June 1. Guess I'll wait for Safe Harbor to come thru.
Safe Harbor told me they stopped taking orders at approx. 150+, since
they didn't have the boards, they decided to stop taking order. As of
Monday, C= USA was waiting for the boards from Europe, and they were going
to fill all of S.H. order.
I didn't call TENEX because $10 is not enough to change orders
although I have done business with TENEX when I ordered WordPerfect
and Bars and Pipes from them during a special sale on those items.
From what you say, the Safe Harbor people will get theirs sooner
anyway!
Gayle,
I just tried it since I am getting itchy for a bridgeboard. And
to make some people here online happy, Safe Harbor is my local Amiga
dealer, so I really like to support them if at all posible. I hope I
get it real soon, I need PC for work realated stuff.
Mark,
I'm looking forward to mine, too. The updated Janus should be nice.
Also, I can make better use of some of the sophisticated software for the
bridgeboard side.
I've had to reboot my system on occasion when the Janus library won't
come up under the GVP G-Force 030 board in our Amiga 2000HD. According to
Denny Atkin's book, I should run 'enforcer quiet' with a 68030. I found
Bryce Nesbitt's original Enforcer after I had downloaded Michael Sinz's
Enforcer 37.28 from one of the Amiga forums. I've been running Sinz's
version.

Thanks for the info from yourself and Mark Hinz on Safe Harbor. I have had
an order in for a while and was a bit edgey about what to expect. I also
have always trusted Safe Harbor, but you have to wonder sometimes if they
will get that shipment in. They didn't have the order as of yesterday.
