Has anyone gotten a double-speed drive yet, and if so, what are your experiences. I'd appreciate knowing the name of drive and approximate street price as well. I need some but don't know where to start. Thanks.

Paul, I went whole-hog (for a client <g>) and had them buy a Pioneer DRM-604X, which is a 6 disc, QUAD-speed changer. The thing is awesome – I've clocked it at 588KB/sec, spec says it will do 612KB/sec max. This makes it nearly as fast as my IDE drive. If I disable SmartDrv, its much faster than the IDE. If you're doing development, the ability to have the MS Developer Network CD, MS C/C++ 7.0, Borland C++, WinNT, etc. on line without caddy changes is great! List price is $1795, street price is in the $1300-1370 range. This week I will be trying it out with WinNT… Regards, Mark

Wow–your Pioneer DRM-604X sounds incredible. How fast is it in changing between discs?
