I'm having a major problem with my Sony LL CD-ROM reader and the 7th Guest software. The speech is chunky and staggered and it seems like the CD-ROM is moving too slow to stay up with the requirements. Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone else been able to play 7th Guest with a Sony LL? My system looks like this: 1) Sony LL CD-ROM 2) 386DX 33Mhz machine 3) 4MB RAM 4) Tseng compatible Video card (This gets a 90% of optimal rating) 5) Soundblaster Pro2 sound card 6) DOS 6.0 with DoubleSpace -David

David, I am not absolutely certain but possibly the Trantor device driver upgrade for the LL may help this situation. Call Trantor at 800-872-6867. Good luck! Les

David, There is a topic "7th Guest" in the "General" Section of this forum that has several comments on this game. One in particular is from Eric Rose (message #47782) that indicates that it takes a pretty robust system in terms of speed and CD-ROM transfer rate to run this game properly. They also give a pointer to the games forum where 7th Guest is the topic of the month. Hope this helps – JN

Thanks, John…I did read all those notes. I decided to splurge on a NEC Multi-Spin CDROM reader at 300KB/Sec transfer rate for a mere (!) $800. My 386DX 33Mhz system works great in VGA mode with it (thank God!) <grin>. -David
